Ecuador is a beautiful country but small compared to its neighbors. The climate is very diversified, from the glacial cold of eternal snows to two types of hot climate: The dry and warm beaches of the coast and the humid warm Amazonian forest.

There is also a moderate and more comfortable climate high in the valleys separating the Andes mountain ranges, and has often been referred to as "eternal spring" by the Europeans who first visited this magical land.

Beyond continental Ecuador lie "the Enchanted Islands" or Galapagos Islands, which have largely conserved their pre-historic natural wonders, as noted by Charles Darwin. Fauna unique at the global level include: Giant turtles, Galapagos penguins, land and sea iguanas, birds of all kinds and great variety of fish. Galapagos is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a Man and the Biosphere Reserve and of course, the most famous National Park of Ecuador.

The people of Ecuador are quite diversified, comprised of a variety of ethnic groups including native and mestizo. In the province of Esmeraldas, descendants of African slaves are numerous.

There are also small communities of inmigrants who have become part of the great Ecuadorian family, including: Lebanese, Jewish, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Korean, and more.

The country has an excellent hotel structure, several television and radio stations, newspapers and magazines.
